Neighbor Indicted In MySpace Suicide Case

A Missouri woman was indicted today on federal fraud and conspiracy charges for her alleged role in orchestrating a cruel MySpace hoax against a teenage girl who later committed suicide.

Valentina’s Tango

Teetering on the edge of madness, striking dancer Valentina (Guillermina Quiriga) keeps the obsessive love she has for her husband, Eduardo (Jordi Caballero), in check by dancing the tango with him. But as time goes on, she slowly drifts into insanity. As Valentina’s family tries to rescue her, they instead find themselves drawn into her nightmarish world. George Perez and Dianna Miranda co-star in this passionate drama peppered with dark comedy.

When two brothers turn to crime to solve their money troubles, they soon find themselves over their heads and pitted against each other in this thriller from Oscar-winning writer-director Woody Allen. Meanwhile, one brother (Ewan McGregor) becomes smitten with a beautiful young actress (Hayley Atwell), while his sibling (Colin Farrell) struggles with mounting gambling debts. Tom Wilkinson and Sally Hawkins co-star.

Gathering a collection of great opera moments into one convenient package incorporating both archival footage and live performances, this commemorative program toasts the 40-year partnership between Opera Australia and Australia’s ABC Television. Highlights include appearances by Joan Sutherland, Donald Smith, Neil Warren-Smith, John Shaw, Joan Carden, Yvonne Kenny and Jeffrey Black, as well as clips from Baz Luhrmann’s staging of “La Boheme.”

Grace Is Gone

Director James C. Strouse’s indie drama stars John Cusack as Stanley Phillips, an ex-military man trying to find the courage to break some devastating news to his two daughters: Their mother has died while serving in Iraq. As he works through his complex feelings about his wife’s death and the war, Stanley delays telling his girls the truth, instead taking them on an excursion to a theme park. The film won the Dramatic Audience Award at Sundance 2007.
